FPT Signed Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement with the HCMC University of Technology and Education

Hanoi, May 31, 2023 - FPT Corporation has signed a cooperation agreement with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) regarding education, science, and technology based on leveraging the capabilities and strengths of both parties.

During the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Viet Anh, Executive Vice President of FPT Corporation and Chairman of FPT Telecom Joint Stock Company, signed the collaboration agreement with Associate Professor Dr. Le Hieu Giang, Vice Rector in charge of the university.

Accordingly, FPT and HCMUTE would collaborate and conduct joint research on expanding networks, training, and scientific research. Both parties would leverage their respective capabilities and strengths to enhance efficiency in implementing tasks during the collaboration.

Specifically, in the educational field, FPT would create opportunities for students and lecturers from HCMUTE to participate in internships, research, and co-supervise graduation projects at FPT's affiliated facilities and subsidies.

FPT Corporation would provide scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate programs at HCMUTE according to an annual plan. They would also support the development of specialized learning materials and laboratory systems to serve the training programs. Additionally, FPT would collaborate with HCMUTE to develop undergraduate, postgraduate, and focus on training programs that meet FPT's training and high-quality human resource development needs.

Given the high demand for a large workforce, HCMUTE would annually cooperate with FPT to organize activities that promote the FPT brand and job opportunities to HCMUTE students.

In the field of Science and Technology, HCMUTE would participate in advising and collaborating on research per FPT's requirements. The corporation would collaborate with HCMUTE to develop products under a shared brand. The university would also organize scientific conferences, exchange research achievements of FPT, and introduce new technologies from the region and the world that can be useful to FPT.

This signing comes at a significant time as FPT's 60,000 members are actively working towards celebrating the 35th anniversary of FPT's establishment. We hope that many HCMUTE students will join our team."

Associate Professor Dr. Le Hieu Giang, Vice Rector in charge of HCMUTE, shared that HCMUTE was established in 1962, separated from Phu Tho University of Technology (now known as Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.) Through multiple mergers and with support from countries like Germany, the former Soviet Union, and South Korea, the university developed a modern, dynamic, and creative culture. FPT and the university had had significant cooperation in the past.

During the ceremony, representatives from FPT's member companies introduced internship, research, and employment opportunities in new technology fields like semiconductor manufacturing and data science for HCMUTE faculty to discuss potential collaboration. According to Mr. Chu Quang Huy, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at FPT Corporation, there was a high demand for high-quality talent at FPT. The corporation's strategy was to gather one million information technology engineers by 2035 to provide global services. To achieve this goal, FPT is strengthening cooperation with HCMUTE and other domestic and international universities, seeking talented individuals to solve challenging problems within the corporation.
