FPT supports Covid-19 affected regions with medical support

February 3, 2021 - With the intense situation of Covid-19 striking again, in the past few days, FPT has promptly organized to present essential medical protective gears and daily supplements to 8 provinces nationwide, including the severely affected - Hai Duong, Quang Ninh and other border provinces. More than 17,000 protective suits, 15,300 specialized medical masks and many gift packages and cash support with a total value of more than 4 billion VND were deposited by FPT, to join hands to prevent and repel the Covid-19 epidemic.

The newly emerging virus is considered to have evolved and spread faster with holding a much higher fatal risk, in the context of the upcoming Lunar New Year, the prevention of disease spreading becomes more and more challenging. FPT acknowledged that it is rather an emergency to aid the forces in the front lines that are trying to protect the health of the people and the community. Therefore, within 24 hours since the first Covid-19 positive case was announced, on January 29, FPT Corporation immediately assisted two anti-Covid hotspots: Hai Duong, Quang Ninh with more than 2,000 protective suits, high level 990 N96 masks and 620 N95 masks, with a total value of more than VND 800 million, through representatives of the Department of Health and the Provincial Center for Disease Control.

Mr. Nguyen Phuc Thien - Director of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Hai Duong province shared at the ceremony: “The need for medical equipment, and other facilities serving the field hospital and isolation ward are increasing due to outbreaks. The support of businesses and units are a huge encouragement to the public health sector as well as the interdisciplinary team in general to help ensure the safety of frontline officers and soldiers as well as supporting testing, tracing and quarantine processes”.

Besides, in those border provinces, to contribute to supporting the soldiers who are spending days and night protecting the country and ensuring to limit epidemics from illegal entry sources while the number of people returning home for Tet. On February 2, FPT Corporation also organized to bring more than 15,000 protective suits with more than 13,000 N95 and N96 masks and cash support to the 4th Border Guard Headquarters of An Giang province, Son La, Dong Thap, Kien Giang.

Together in the battle against Covid-19, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are considered as high risk areas due to the amount of people traveling from across the country. Also on 2/2, FPT Corporation presented gifts and cash to support the emergency force 115 Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City - the units in charge of transferring Covid-19 patients to the hospital for treatment, their work is silent but extremely dangerous and strenuous.

The supporting activities in 8 provinces and cities are parts of the VND 20 billion package of FPT, contributing to Government and the community to fight the pandemic. Previously, with technology solutions, FPT had collaborated with the Ministry of Health to build a nCOv virtual assistant within 7 days to automatically answer all questions about people's epidemics 24/7; supported a 2,000-pax isolation site at FPT Hoa Lac’s dormitory, donated many anti-epidemic equipment to frontline medical staffs across the country; opened free online VioEdu training system for students of more than 15,000 schools during the days when they cannot go to school …
