People's Committee of Hau Giang Province and FPT Sign a MoU to Accelerate Digital Transformation and Education

Hau Giang, on July 16, 2022, within the framework of the Hau Giang's Investment Promotion Conference 2022, the People's Committee of Hau Giang Province and FPT Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Specifically, the two sides will cooperate in researching, examining, and looking for investment opportunities and relevant projects in the field of digital transformation and education.

Accordingly, FPT will accompany Hau Giang province to develop documents, action programs, and schemes in the field of digital transformation that are consistent with the province's actual circumstances. Concurrently, FPT will support the People's Committee of Hau Giang province to concretize the action plan into tasks and projects that closely follow the Resolution on Digital Transformation of Hau Giang province and are in line with its capabilities. Those tasks and projects focus on digital infrastructure, digital government, digital applications for Hau Giang people/enterprises, and priority domains.

The two sides will also collaborate in piloting smart cities using the comprehensive solution suite that integrates digital infrastructure and products of FPT in one city/district in Hau Giang province. In addition, FPT will assist local businesses with digital transformation consulting and implementing, supporting companies and households to bring regional products nationwide through the Sendo e-commerce platform.

At the same time, the two sides cooperate in deploying short-term, intensive training programs for provincial leaders and officials (especially the IT departments), organizations, enterprises, and people on digital transformation to improve digital awareness and skills.

According to the MoU, FPT proposed Hau Giang province to facilitate FPT Education with educational development opportunities.

Hau Giang is considered one of the provinces with the most rapid economic recovery in many fields after two years of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The province's GRDP economic growth rate in 2021 reached 11%, ranking eighth in the country and first in the Mekong Delta. Local competitiveness has changed positively. The province's 2021 PCI (Provincial Competitiveness Index) ranked 38th out of 63 localities nationwide at 63.80 points, up 12 positions in the 2017-2021 period (from the 50th in 2017 to 38th in 2021). The Public Administration Reform (PAR) Index increased four places compared to 2019 (from 31st position in 2019 to 27th position in 2021), creating a critical breakthrough to attract investment and develop socio-economics. In 2021, Hau Giang was also in the Top 30 leading provinces in digital transformation on all three pillars of the digital economy - digital society - digital government. Regarding the digital economy, Hau Giang ranked 18th out of 63 provinces. It is also one of the key directions to help the province grow upward to a well-developed area.

With the support of the Government and leaders of provinces and cities nationwide, in the past year, FPT has promoted the signing of digital transformation cooperation agreements with 20 localities and organized digital transformation training sessions to raise awareness for nearly thousands of local leaders at all levels across the country. Based on FPT's technological strength and digital transformation experience, as well as the socio-economic characteristics and competitive advantages of each locality, FPT supports them in developing thorough socio-economic expansion on all three pillars of the digital economy, digital government, and digital society towards a digital nation model. Furthermore, The Corporation helps them flexibly adapt to the new normal through socio-economic development consulting, strategic digital transformation planning, and education and training to enhance digital understanding on a large scale.
