FPT Chairman: 'Technology brings Joy to the Nations'

Mr. Truong Gia Binh affirmed that technology would help realize the aspiration of bringing satisfaction to all Vietnamese and Korean people, organizations, and businesses.

"Which nation promotes technology, its citizens will be happy," - Mr. Truong Gia Binh shared at the "Hanoi's Cultural Convergence Forum 2022" on December 21. The event was organized by the Vietnam Urban Planning and Development Association (VUPDA), the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (RoK), and the Embassy of Vietnam in Korea on the 30th anniversary of Vietnam - RoK Diplomatic Relations.

Technology - the key to happiness

According to the Chairman of FPT, Vietnam and Korea nurtured the same dream and shared the same aspiration: "How to create happy societies?". From the perspective of the leader of a tech giant in Vietnam, he answered the question: "The nations that boost technology at top speed will make their citizens the most satisfied."

The Chairman of FPT gave a speech at Hanoi's Cultural Convergence Forum 2022, taking place on December 21.

Happiness is being understood and cared for, he said. Hence, technology knew us better than we knew ourselves. It even took care of our well-being. "There are six stages of the human life cycle: childhood, basic education, career establishment, marriage, advancement, and dedication to society and the future. Technology engages and supports people in each of these stages," he reaffirmed.

"Children need eating, learning, and getting health care for a happy childhood. Those activities will be more interesting and safer with Metaverse and AI. Besides, technology used throughout the food supply chain help produce and deliver safe food to children. Moreover, technology helps the health system to be smarter, giving kids equal access to health care services," he gave evidence.

Mr. Binh suggested that the two countries need AI for joyful education in the digital environment. It would be a major for young people to learn or work in the technology industry afterward. It could also help diversify the AI industry and the industry in the future.

Entrepreneurs would find happiness in establishing their businesses if the country invested in innovative and technology-based start-ups. Tech giants would nurture tech unicorns. Enterprises concentrating on virtual offices and chatbots might increase labor productivity, keep employees from getting bored, and create happy workplaces. Each employee could maximize their creativity in a delighted and cozy work environment.

Above all, FPT's Chairman said that comprehensive digital transformation from the government to the locality was vital to improve people's lives. For example, a shared data warehouse could allow citizens and companies to look up information smoothly and give free access to transparent details. In the future, technology companies like FPT will promote the digital economy by accelerating digital transformation so that businesses can raise revenue.

"Previously, we deployed digital transformation for individual organizations. Now, we optimize the data to build an uninterrupted business chain for multiple ones," said Mr. Truong Gia Binh.

FPT cooperates with Korean enterprises in digital transformation

Mentioning the partnerships between FPT Corporation and Korean businesses, Chairman Truong Gia Binh said that FPT Korea launched on August 13, 2016. FPT's sales in Korea reached nearly 18 million USD in 2020, 20 million USD in 2021, and more than 35 million USD in 2022.

Over the years, FPT has cooperated with large Korean companies such as LGE, LG CNS, and Hyundai AutoEver... for software development. The Corporation has also invested in enhancing the IT workforce by organizing Bridge Engineer training programs in Korea. In addition, FPT Television is a top brand in digital content in Vietnam, with a lot of content in cooperation with Korean studios and media agencies.

In the future, FPT will keep its growth rate of at least 50% in RoK and increase the number of local employees, especially for senior positions. Moreover, partnering with high-tech companies such as LG, Hyundai, Samsung, Hanwa, KB Bank, and SSG... was also a strategic effort of FPT to achieve the target of USD 100 million in sales by 2024.

"Hanoi's Convergence Cultural Forum 2022" attracted government representatives and leading technology, construction, and finance experts from Vietnam and Korea. The Forum promoted the solidarity and development of the two countries toward a sustainable future.
