Minister of Science and Technology and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Met with FPT Corporation

Hanoi, June 29, 2023, Mr. Dinh Tien Dung, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, and Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Science and Technology, visited FPT Corporation in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park.

FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh welcomed Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Member of the Party Central Committee & Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Dinh Tien Dung, Politburo member & Secretary of the City Party Committee Hanoi, and the delegation.

During the agenda, the delegation took a tour of FPT Software Co., Ltd., Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, Thach That, Hanoi. The visit was significant for FPT Corporation and the IT industry as a whole, demonstrating the government's concern for Vietnam's high-tech sector.

The delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Hanoi Party Committee visited FPT Software Co., Ltd in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park.

FPT Corporation is one of the earliest enterprises to invest in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, with training facilities for universities, high schools, software research and production, and IT services. Regarding the Information Technology sector, FPT occupies a high position in the most trending sectors worldwide due to its human resources who graduated from famous Vietnamese universities, FPT University, and Vietnamese students studying abroad. In 2022, for the first time, FPT recorded a 1 billion USD revenue from overseas markets, equivalent to the export revenue of black pepper - Vietnam's vital agricultural export commodity. The Corporation witnessed high growth in all global markets and contributed 7,112 billion VND to the state budget. Core and state-of-the-art technologies, including AI, Big Data, and Cloud, are prioritized.

Among its "Made-by-FPT" ecosystem of more than 200 solutions and products, many have quickly gained their foothold globally. Various products, such as IC - Integrated Circuit and akabot, are honored by the world's most famous corporations. In particular, the FPT semiconductor chip, launched in September 2022, is the first microchip applied in Internet of Things (IoT) products for the medical field. It has signed the first deal to supply 25 million chips to its partner between 2024 and 2025. In addition, FPT is fulfilling a 2 million chips order for a Japanese partner. It is expected that it will generate seven new chip lines in 2023.

At the beginning of 2024, FPT Semiconductor will continue to develop IoT platform chips for smart devices and IoT applications for agriculture, forestry, and aquaculture. akaBot, the RPA solution, was rated "Strong Performer" in the Voice of the Customer - Gartner Peer Insights Report (2021) with 100% of customers rating 4 and 5 stars, putting akaBot in second place in the overall result. It is also the first Vietnamese IT brand in this prestigious global ranking.

Among the key technologies, FPT has heavily focused on AI. Since most Vietnamese people have been unfamiliar with AI, the Corporation has comprehensively invested in all aspects of AI, including researching; developing products, services, and solutions; HR training; and strengthening cooperation with the world's most famous businesses and organizations in AI. Recently, FPT has just signed strategic collaborations on R&D and HR training with Mila - the world's leading AI research institute, built by the "godfather of AI" - Professor Yoshua Bengio; and Landing AI, a pioneer in the field of machine vision and AI in Silicon Valley, founded by Professor Andrew Ng.
