Youth Union Officers Nationwide Enthusiastically Practice AI Applications

08/04/2025

Nearly 500 Youth Union officers across the country have gained hands-on experience with fundamental AI applications such as ChatGPT, Leonardo AI, Canva, and Suno through the training program series titled “AI Applications Difficult? Leave It to the Youth!” organized by FPT University and FPT Corporation.

From mid-March to early April 2025, hundreds of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union officers from six major cities and provinces Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh, and Can Tho participated in the “AI Applications Difficult? Leave It to the Youth!” training program.

This initiative responds to Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. It aims to equip Youth Union officers nationwide with foundational knowledge and practical skills in applying AI to their work.

Young People Take the Lead – AI Is No Longer a Challenge

Each training session not only provided theoretical knowledge about AI but also focused on practical exercises with popular tools such as ChatGPT, Leonardo AI, Canva, and Suno. Participants learned how to apply these tools to real-world Youth Union tasks such as planning, event organization, communication design, and activity reporting.

Notably, the program encouraged participants to develop technological thinking, self-learning capabilities, and adaptability to rapid changes in the digital era. Organizers expressed their hope that each officer, after completing the training, would become a “core ambassador” for spreading AI knowledge among local youth communities.

Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh, Head of the Software Engineering Department, FPT University, FPT Corporation, shared his insights during the training session in Quy Nhon.

A key highlight contributing to the success of the program was the active participation of FPT University’s Information Technology students. With their enthusiasm and technological expertise, these students took on the role of peer trainers, directly guiding Youth Union officers through practical exercises under the model of “young people guiding young people.”

On average, each student mentored three to four Youth Union officers, providing dedicated support throughout the training. Prior to the program, the students underwent thorough preparation by the organizing committee to ensure consistent content delivery, effective communication, and high-quality interaction.

Spreading Positive Impact

Sharing about the program’s implementation, the organizing committee representatives highlighted that its success stemmed from close collaboration between FPT University, local authorities, and grassroots Youth Union secretaries. From the preparation stage, the organizing team conducted needs assessments, developed detailed plans, and received strong support from local units in communication, logistics, and personnel.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Deputy Secretary of Hai Phong Youth Union, remarked: “The AI training program organized by FPT University has timely equipped grassroots Youth Union officers with practical knowledge about digital transformation and AI. This is an important foundation for young people to apply technology in daily life, serve the community, and develop themselves.”

Beyond a single training event, “AI Applications Difficult? Leave It to the Youth!” marks a significant step forward in the movement “AI for Everyone.” Through its practical, learner-centered training model that emphasizes the leadership role of students, the program is gradually building a generation of dynamic, confident Youth Union officers ready to master technology in the new era.
