FPT CEO to be elected as Vice Chairman of ASOCIO

At the recently held ASOCIO Digital Technology Summit in Singapore, the organization's General Assembly elected its new leadership for the 2023-2024 tenure.

Accordingly, Brian Shen, Chairman of the Information Service Industry Association of Taiwan (CISA), was chosen as the new Chairman of ASOCIO for the coming term. Eight Vice Chairman are leaders of IT associations in Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, and South Korea. The new ASOCIO's Council Members - including Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, VINASA Chairman and CEO of FPT - will officially take up their positions from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024.

As one of the most time-honored international ICT associations, ASOCIO was founded in 1984 with the participation of IT associations representing 24 economies in Asia and Oceania. ASOCIO's influence covers over 10,000 ICT companies and represents approximately US$ 340 billion of ICT revenue. Having VINASA Chairman Nguyen Van Khoa in the ASOCIO Council high position shows Vietnamese increased prestige and credibility among the Asia - Oceania ICT community.

Also, the ASOCIO Awards ceremony was organized within the Agenda of the ASOCIO Digital Technology Summit. It's the region's most prestigious ICT recognition for outstanding individuals, organizations, and businesses in 24 economies. This year, the Vietnamese delegation has 6 out of 53 ASOCIO awards.

Previously, at the 5th Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA) Committee Congress taking place in March 2021, FPT’s CEO Nguyen Van Khoa was assigned as the new VINASA’s Chairman, replacing Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation, who has held the Chair position of VINASA since its establishment.

Since it started operating in April 2002, VINASA has been a prestigious professional organization with the participation of 438 leading industry enterprises. VINASA covers 60% of the total workforce and 70% of the production capacity of Vietnam's software industry. In the fourth term (2016-2020), VINASA has made its milestone of creating a comprehensive ecosystem to enhance Vietnamese information technology enterprises' growth.
