Forbes Vietnam announced Vietnam’s 50 top listed companies for 2019.  FPT is one of few businesses among the list for the 7th year in a row.

The year 2018 was marked by the transformation of FPT after restructuring with outstanding financial performance. Specifically, revenue increased significantly by 17.4% YoY, in like-for-like comparison. Gross margin reached 37.8%, a strong increase because business results of FPT Retail and Synnex FPT were not consolidated. With a strategic focus on Information Technology and Telecommunications, these sectors will continue to remain key growth drivers for FPT in the future. In which, the revenue of Technology sector was VND13,402 billion, accounting for over 57%. Telecommunications sector’s revenue increased by 15% YoY to VND 8,831 billion, accounting for 38% of total revenue.

In 2018, FPT bought 90%of the stake of Intellinet Consulting, an American management consulting and technology services firm, or signing a contract worth USD 115 million with innogy SE, Europe’s leading energy company to provide technological solutions based on SAP, IoT, and digital transformation platforms for it. In the period of 2019 - 2021, FPT announced its strategic focus on digital transformation and introduced young leaders.

According to Forbes Vietnam, the after-tax profit of the 50 best listed companies in 2019 was over VND127, 530 billion, up 19.2% from last year. Their market capitalization was USD94 billion, or 63% of the total market caps of both exchanges as of mid-May.

Many companies on the list operate in the real estate-construction, logistics, financial services, retail and building materials sectors.

In the list of 50, HSX had 45 representatives as the exchange represents around 90 percent of Vietnam’s total market cap. This year’s list saw 13 changes, with 11 new entrants and two returning after being absent last year.
