According to a member of the winning team Nguyen Duy Tung Khanh, although the competition ended three months ago, the team still do not believe they are visiting the U.S. For the vast majority of Vietnamese students, it's hard to get a chance to visit the US, arrive in the Silicon Valley and experience the latest technologies here. They get excited about traveling abroad for the first time.
The first year’s topic is “Driverless” - one of the nine pillars of the fourth industrial revolution. A number of technology giants are already rushing to develop their own models. Students had programmed their unmanned cars of the high-scoring teams travel at a fast speed and are able to adjust their speed at corners or while avoiding obstacles on the road.
FPT CEO Bui Quang Ngọc met the winning team before they travelled to the U.S.
The digital race aims at building up Vietnam’s technology resources, helping young people with programming talent learn new technologies via progressively enhanced requirements.
The 2016-2017 competition took place from November 2016 to May 2017 attracting 500 candidates from 26 universities nationwide. MTA Racer from Military Technical Academy won the first prize.
The next competition 2017-2018 is scheduled to start in September 2017.
