FPT Achieves Double Global Award Win for its Exemplary and Impressive CSR activities

On August 29, at the 15th Global CSR & ESG Summit & Awards 2023 held in Da Nang, FPT was honored in two significant categories: "CSR & ESG Leadership Award" with a Platinum rank (Best country award) and "Best Community Programme Award" with a Gold rank.

Specifically, FPT surpassed 250 nominations from various companies worldwide to be honored in two major categories. In the "CSR & ESG Leadership Award" category, FPT achieved the highest rank among Vietnamese enterprises with a market capitalization of over 1 billion USD. Under the "Best Community Programme Award" category, Hope School was the only representative from Vietnam to win the award. The Global CSR & ESG Summit and Awards 2023 is one of the prestigious and large-scale global awards for sustainable development. After 15 years of organization, this is the second time it has taken place in Vietnam.

Meaningful Insights from the Global CSR and ESG Summit 2023

Over 200 attendees and 20 guest speakers - influential leaders from government agencies, organizations, and businesses from various countries - gathered at the event. Their presence signifies international recognition of Vietnam's efforts and positive actions in promoting ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).

FPT achieved the highest rank in the "CSR & ESG Leadership Award" among Vietnamese companies with a market capitalization of over 1 billion USD.

Under the theme "Driving Transformational Change Beyond Greenwashing," the Global CSR & ESG Summit was a forum to raise issues and challenges for discussing and exploring exemplary ESG and CSR strategies, along with many eco-friendly solutions and technologies.

In its 15th return, the awards were evaluated on both global and national levels. Due to its sound strategy for sustainable development and the impressive CSR project Hope School, FPT was honored at both levels.

Based on its business strategy, FPT has established a sustainable development orientation and strategy that ensures the harmony of three elements: economic development, community support, and environmental protection. When establishing action programs, FPT also references the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the GRI Standards. Throughout its 35 years of development, FPT has always emphasized community support activities to deliver the best benefits to all stakeholders. Suitable models have been adopted for application. Besides, FPT allocates 3% of its annual revenue to sustainability activities.

One of the critical areas FPT focuses on in its corporate social responsibility is education, including the Hope School project. Hope School, founded by FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh, provides care and education to children who have lost their parents due to COVID-19. The school has entered its second year of operation and has attracted many "Good Samaritans," including the Government of Japan, individuals, organizations, and businesses worldwide and Vietnam. To date, the school has taken in and educated over 300 children from all parts of the country. In the 2023-2024 academic year, the school welcomes an additional 100 students from Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, and Quang Tri. FPT aims to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and provide them with quality learning environments and modern technology access. Moreover, it contributes to narrowing the education and digital gap and equips children with essential skills for job opportunities in today's era.

Hope School is the sole representative from Vietnam to receive an award under the "Best Community Programme Award" category.

Regarding the awards, a representative from FPT stated that sustainability is a common trend in the development strategies of global enterprises. As a technology company leading in digital transformation, FPT continuously pioneers and innovates to bring new values, create happiness for everyone, and contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnam and the world. "These two major awards in the CSR & ESG field coincided with the celebration of our 35th anniversary, marking a special milestone for FPT's leadership and employees worldwide", said the FPT representative.

ESG Strategy and CSR Activities Lead to FPT's Success

Some green applications developed by FPT and its partners are widely used in Singapore, such as Changi (an airport utility and e-commerce ecosystem) and Parkway MyHealth360 (a comprehensive digital solution for patients).

FPT receives international recognition for its efforts in promoting CSR and ESG activities.

Furthermore, FPT is the first private enterprise in Vietnam to allocate a specific day for all employees to contemplate or make practical contributions to the community. FPT encourages each employee to directly participate in charity activities or contribute a minimum of one day's salary to the FPT People for the Community Fund, which supports timely assistance to employees facing difficulties and conducts volunteer activities nationwide.
