At the ICT Summit 2018, FPT introduced many solutions to build the foundation for digital government, for example, the data processor in Ho Chi Minh City or e-government system in Quang Ninh.

At the event, CTO of FPT Information System Phan Thanh Son said that with more than 20 years of experience in setting up e-government system for many localities, the relationship with the world's leading digital government experts, the latest technologies in Industry 4.0, FPT gets ready to advise and accompany the Government, ministries and localities nationwide to build digital government. "With more than 1,500 experts with a deep understanding of public administration reform, FPT commits to a long-term cooperation to the common good and towards successful implementation of digital government in Vietnam," said Son.

The e-government system FPT has built for Quang Ninh is one of prime examples. Five years after implementing the e-government project, Quang Ninh has created a professional and modern working environment that saves time and money, betters work efficiency and public service quality. In 2017, Quang Ninh leads in PCI and PAR index. More than 400 administrative units of the province have got involved in the application of e-government; over 3.7 million document exchanges have been gone on online (3 years); saving over 30 billion administrative costs. More than 1,500 online public services, over 600,000 dossiers have been solved per year, saving over 70 billion VND per year. The one-stop system helps clarify the process of solving administrative procedures, allowing people to participate in monitoring the performance of state agencies. In particular, the system helps reduce travel time by up to 40% and travel times at least 01 times/transaction.

Chairman of the Office of the Government Mai Tien Dung highly appreciated Quang Ninh's approach and asked FPT to support the province to bring it into a pilot. He also emphasized that the model of e-government in Quang Ninh will be the basis for the national one.

Mr. Dang Huy Hau, standing Vice-Chairman of Quảng Ninh Province’s People’s Committee, said, "The successful implementation of e-government requires high determination from provincial leaders and agreement at all levels. Others such as propaganda, training, IT infrastructure etc. also play an important role, besides partners with their own capabilities, experience and potential"

Vietnam was ranked 89th out of 193 countries and territories in the e-government development index (EGDI) in 2016, up ten places compared to two years ago, according to the e-government survey 2016 conducted by the United Nations.

Vietnam has basically completed the connection and interconnection of the document management systems of ministries, branches, and localities with the Government Office. There were 26 ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government-attached agencies and 63/63 provinces and centrally-run cities linking document management software, which automatically recognizes the treatment status of documents between agencies; 63 out of 63 provinces and cities and 19 out of 30 ministries and agencies have publicly processed the dossiers on the Government Portal, except for some specialized ministries and agencies.
