FPT Software Japan Co., Ltd. (FPT Japan) and Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (DIS) are pleased to announce that they held a signing ceremony for a partnership agreement on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Through this partnership, DIS will jointly sell FPT's flagship automation solution, akaBot, aiming to improve business efficiency for Japanese companies, reduce the burden on employees, and address the growing problem of labor shortages.

Attending the event were Mr. Toru Tanihara - Chairman of FPT Japan Holdings, Mr. Do Van Khac - CEO of FPT Japan Holdings and Mr. Hiroyuki Matsumoto - Chairman and CEO of Daiwabo Information System and representatives of leaders from both sides.

Japan's labor force (employed and unemployed) is steadily declining. Therefore, the gap between the demand and supply of workers will continue to widen in the future, and some research reports predict that there will be a labor shortage of 3.41 million people in 2030 and over 11 million people in 2040.
Commenting on the issue, Mr. Matsumoto Hiroyuki – President and CEO of DIS stated: “We consider this to be a major management issue, especially in Japan, where there are many small and medium-sized enterprises. If we try to continue to perform existing tasks with fewer staff than before, the labor burden per person will naturally increase. For this reason, responding to the decline in the working population is one of the priorities for companies.”

By strategically leveraging automation technologies, Japan can create a more efficient and productive work environment with a smaller labor pool.

DIS has a community-based sales system with a sales network of 96 locations across Japan and delivers to companies and local governments nationwide through approximately 19,000 sales partners. In addition, DIS will not only provide information and technical support related to akaBot solution but also make the service compatible with existing customers through the know-how knowledge and best practices for Japanese market.
Through the new partnership, DIS and FJP joined forces to address the critical issue of labor shortages in Japan by leveraging the advanced capabilities of the akaBot. The automation solution utilizes Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) to handle repetitive tasks related to documents and paperwork with precision and speed, optimizing back-office operations.

For instance, by automating the invoice matching process, akaBot reduces the processing time per invoice from 10 minutes to just 3 minutes, with 75% of the process handled by robots and only 25% remaining manual. This automation covers many steps in Finance & Accounting department such as downloading e-invoices, matching documents, comparing information, and recording invoices into the customer system.

On the other hand, the automation solution from FPT also facilitates seamless migration from other RPA platforms to its one-stop shop automation system. This service helps companies consolidate their automation framework, reduce costs up to 50% with affordable license fee and stay updated with the latest automation technologies. Additionally, akaBot's scalability has allowed a Japanese company to expand its automation efforts into other sectors including healthcare, real estate and automotive, demonstrating the platform's versatility and effectiveness in driving operational efficiency.

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Hiroyuki Matsumoto, President and CEO of Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd.,: “We believe that akaBot can contribute to improving the productivity of small and medium-sized enterprises in Japan by freeing companies facing labor shortages from tedious human tasks and operations and enabling them to allocate human resources to more productive work.”

Mr. Toru Tanihara, Chairman of FPT Japan Holdings made his comment: “It is a privilege to join forces with Daiwabo Information System in this strategic partnership to distribute the akaBot automation solution in Japan. At FPT, we are committed to developing innovative solutions that address pressing societal challenges. We believe that with akaBot, the integration of human and machine intelligence is key to creating a more sustainable and prosperous future for Japan.”
