Japanese language and technical skills helped FPT Japan beat its competitors from South Korea and China to win a value contract with a multinational computer technology company based in Sendai (Japan).
Accordingly, FPT employees will work at Data centre of the client to carry out Maintenance and Support. This this work requires infrastructure skills including Hardware, Storage, Database, Middleware, Network, Server and systems.
Phase 1 of the project will start on May 8 with 10 participants. The number of employees will be tripled only a week later and reach more than 100 people in the future.
This long-term project not long provides work for FPT Japan but also offers an opportunity to expand its business to northern Japan. FPT Japan Director Tran Dang Hoa hoped that the unit could set up a near-shore branch in Sendai. "Much work needs to be done in the short term but I hope Sendai branch will become the second largest office following Tokyo one, helping FPT Japan hit the goal of 1,000 people by the end of this year," Mr. Hoa said.
FPT Japan has nearly 800 people working in four offices in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka.
