FPT was honored with outstanding CSR activities at the Announcement Ceremony of the Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards in Vietnam (Top 50 CSA) in 2023 (organized by Nhip Cau Dau Tu Magazine). The award is a milestone to recognize its efforts in the 2023 strategy.
It is the second consecutive year that FPT has been praised among the Top 50 CSA. The award is a testament to FPT's efforts in implementing CSR projects supporting the Community where FPT locates its offices.
The awardees represent distinctive businesses implementing sustainable development strategies, committing to green growth, and demonstrating values in impacting the Community. As a leading technology corporation in Vietnam, FPT has always pursued sustainable development goals through human-centric ESG activities. The Corporation consistently strives to keep equal and fair opportunities for all employees throughout their career paths.
During this year's awards ceremony, FPT received high praise for its outstanding CSR activities, which were reviewed by leaders of famous economic - financial organizations such as HSBC, Deloitte, PwC Vietnam, The Institute for Circular Economy Development (ICED) under the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City… The results were based on the following criteria: improving employee policies; a diverse and inclusive working environment; environmental protection policies; volunteering activities to solve local issues…
Mr. Vo Dang Phat, CMO of FPT, received the award on behalf of the Corporation.
Representative of FPT, Mr. Vo Dang Phat, Chief of Marketing and Communications (CMO), received the award. "It's our pleasure to receive the TOP 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards, especially in the category of Outstanding CSR activities. It is a recognition to our best efforts for the Community. FPT is committed to utilizing its strengths in technology and education to bring about positive transformation and create opportunities for people everywhere," said Mr. Vo. Dang Phat.
FPT's sustainable development strategy is built on the harmonious assurance of economic development, community support, and environmental protection. Therefore, when establishing priority action plans on ESG, FPT has researched and referenced the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations and the GRI Standards. During its 35 years of development, FPT has always focused on CSR activities to best benefit stakeholders.
In particular, FPT desires that each of its successes is associated with kindness and humane actions, most clearly expressed through FPT's Day for the Community (March 13). FPT is the only enterprise in Vietnam that dedicates one day of the year to social responsibility. FPT encourages employees to engage each employee in volunteering activities or contribute at least one day's wage to the FPT Fund for the Community. People in unfortunate circumstances, especially our employees, are promptly supported.
In 2022, FPT sponsored over 171 billion VND in CSR events, bringing practical values to 47.777 people nationwide. With the FPT's Fund for the Community, 35 schools were renovated, 50 bridges were built, more than 2,000 blood units were donated and more than 12,000 people benefited from 52 charity programs.
Significantly, one of the critical activities that FPT focuses on is education. Corporate leaders desire a better future for young generations, especially those in difficult circumstances, by offering a high-quality learning environment and free access to the lastest technologies. Thereby, it shortens the educational and digital gap, equipping young people with the necessary skills to find stable jobs in today's era. 70% of the CSR budget was to support education opportunities and the young generations, such as scholarships to children with health problems linked to dioxin exposure and excellent students who overcome adversity. In addition, the Hope School - a boarding school for children who unfortunately lost their parents to Covid-19 founded by FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh - has moved to the second year of operation. The school has drawn much attention from sponsors such as the Japanese Government, individuals, organizations, and businesses nationwide and globally.
In the spirit of love, in the coming time, FPT will continue to organize charity programs across the country such as building and renovating schools, donating to computer labs, providing better access to books, offering learning and living supplies to students at the North - Central - South border areas, and building bridges in the Mekong Delta region…
