FPT opens 6th office in Japan

The opening ceremony of FPT Japan’s 6th office in Japan was held on March 13th at the Okura Act City Hotel, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

The opening of the office in Shizuoka Prefecture will help FPT Japan create opportunities for reaching out to potential customers as well as provide services and support to clients in this area as quickly as possible.

"In 2017, Japan was the largest FDI investor in Vietnam with total investment of USD9.11 billion. However, the investment of Vietnamese enterprises in Japan is still relatively modest. I hope that as the first 100% Vietnamese owned company in Japan which has achieve great success and been highly appreciated by Japanese partners, FPT will pave the way for many Vietnamese enterprises to invest here," Counsellor from the Vietnamese embassy in Japan Nguyen Xuan Tien spoke at the event. Mr. Tien also affirmed that the Vietnamese embassy in Japan is always willing to support FPT's activities in Japan.

At the event, Mr. Go Shimuta, President of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Hamamatsu City, said that the Japanese government was promoting support for Japanese enterprises in cooperation with foreign businesses, including Vietnamese ones. JETRO would help FPT develop in Japan in general and in Shizuoka Prefecture in particular.

In 2005, FPT officially established FPT Japan, the first 100% Vietnamese-owned IT company in this market. After nearly 13 years of operation, FPT Japan has 06 offices in 06 provinces and cities here: Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Okinawa and Shizuoka. Japan is always the most important market in FPT's global strategy. In 2017, FPT earned VND3,599 billion in revenue from the Japanese market, an increase of 26% yoy.

The total number of FPT employees serving the Japanese market accounts for over 50% of the one in the field of software, equivalent to over 5,000 people. About 1,000 of them are working in 06 offices in Japan. FPT has been highly appreciated by Japanese clients such as "Best Development Project Award" and "Platine Partner" in the financial sector by Hitachi; "Good Design Award" by Fujitsu Software.
