FPT partners with UTC to develop intelligent transportation solutions

On October 27, FPT Corporation and University of Transport and Communications (UTC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on training, technology research and transfer.

On October 27, FPT Corporation and University of Transport and Communications (UTC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on training, technology research and transfer. The event marks a new milestone in the co-operation in high-quality human resources training, technology research and transfer in the transportation sector to catch up with the 4.0 industrial revolution wave.

As for the HR training and development, the two sides will jointly organize courses to improve professional skills of employees and lecturers. FPT will offer the students career opportunities and internships in the transport projects, besides scholarships.

As for the technology research and transfer, the two sides will mobilize their human resources to carry out R&D projects in the field of intelligent transport in Hanoi, HCMC and others. During the period 2017-2020, they will give priority to such systems and services as intelligent transportation system architecture for cities; traffic map; auto transport business management system; transport infrastructure management system; intelligent traffic signal control system and system for traffic violation detection etc.

If 4.0 solutions are was effectively adopted in the field of transportation, emerging issues such as traffic congestion in Vietnam will be reduced. In order to hit this goal, FPT needs cooperation from many units, including the leading ones in high quality resources training like UTC. That the two sides work together to bring the 4.0 technology solutions to life in general and the transport sector in particular will bring benefits for themselves and community", FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh stated.

"Specializing in training human resources in the transportation sector, in recent years, University of Transport and Communications has improved and expanded professional training in accordance with the needs on the labour market. Cooperating with FPT - Vietnam's leading information technology company will not only help UTC improve the effectiveness of training but also offer the lecturers and students opportunities to work with FPT and join big intelligent transportation projects," said UTC Rector Nguyen Ngoc Long.
