FPT plans to earn USD 1 billion in technology sector by 2021

On May 31st, FPT cooperated with Ho Chi Minh City Securities Corporation (HSC) to organize an event to meet investors and stockbrokers with the theme of "Digital transformation - FPT's transformation". The event attracted more than 300 investors and brokers.

At the event, FPT leaders shared the great opportunities in digital transformation market and the goals in the period of 2019-2021.

According to FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh, the information technology market is worth USD4,000 billion and achieves a 4% growth while the digital transformation market size is valued at USD 1,700 billion and gets a 17% increase, 4 times more.

FPT aims to earn USD1 billion in technology services by 2021, considering digital transformation as the main growth motivation. According to FPT leaders, with 20% annual growth rate, this goal is completely feasible.

Besides, FPT aims to be among the world's Top 50 providers of digital transformation consulting services in the next 10 years. Investments will focus mainly on technology. However, in order to develop this segment, FPT will continue investing in education.

“The Y2K problem had an effect only within 1 - 2 years and created opportunities for countries like India. But the fourth industrial revolution with a focus on digital transformation lasts for 15-20 years on a global scale. It is valued at trillions of dollars and hits a large growth rate. We currently have an almost unlimited market in the world which shows a great need. It is vital to better itself to meet market demands. In principle, meeting these demands depends on education, so technology and education must come together. If developing well and stimulating innovation, FPT will achieve high and sustainable growth,” stated Mr. Binh.

Besides, FPT leaders also shared the financial picture of FPT in the next 3 years. Accordingly, in the period of 2019-2021, its growth in revenue and profit will be 17.8% and 20% respectively.
