FPT received Certificates of Merit for its contributions to Vietnam-Japan friend

Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Umeda Kunio awarded the Certificate of Merit to FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh during the year-end meeting.

At the meeting, the Ambassador gave much praise to FPT. Since its official operation in Japan in 2005, FPT has become a bridge for Vietnamese and Japanese people to become close friends and colleagues. Recently, FPT built the first Japanese tea room in Vietnam, offering a chance for Vietnamese and Japanese citizens interested in tea ceremonies to meet, making a contribution to strengthening the cultural exchanges between the two countries.

According to Mr. Truong Gia Binh, this is a recognition of the contributions of FPT to the friendship of the two countries. FPT is a Vietnamese company pioneering software export to Japan. Over the past two decades, through its business activities, FPT has made efforts to make Vietnam a favorite software export destination for Japanese companies, contributing to tightening relations between the two countries.

Truong Gia Binh received the Certificate of Merit from the Embassy of Japan. 

In 2005, FPT pioneered the establishment of the first Vietnamese IT company in Japan, paving the way for others to enter this market. Over the past 13 years, FPT has constantly made efforts to affirm its ability to make Japan its most important market and contribute to making Vietnam the the second most favored partner of Japanese businesses.

For many years, FPT's revenue growth from Japanese market has always been considerable, about 25-30%/year. In 2016, FPT achieved a turnover of USD 100 million. In 2018, it is expected to reach USD 200 million, an increase of about 25% yoy.

Currently, FPT is the largest foreign IT companies in Japan with 1,300 people working in 9 offices and branches throughout Japan including Hokkaido, Tokyo, Yokohama, Shizuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka and Okinawa. Besides, 8,000 employees in Vietnam work on projects with the Japanese market. Within the next 2-3 years, FPT aims to become one of the 20 largest technology enterprises in Japan with USD 500 million in revenue and 3,000 employees in Japan.
