According to Mr. Hoang Viet Anh, Vice General Director of FPT, digital transformation is a combination of three inseparable elements being the transformation of business models, of technology in businesses and of people.

In an organization or a business, people are the deciding factor for the success of the digital transformation. On the digital transformation roadmap, the human factor is considered to have a significant impact on the implementation of the process for an organization or enterprise. Therefore, in the words of Mr. Hoang Viet Anh, FPT's Vice General Director cum President of FPT Digital (a subsidiary of FPT), even with a new business model and a modern technology infrastructure, an organization lacking the human resources necessary for the implementation would still face risks and failures in the digital transformation process of businesses.

In the methodology of FPT Digital Kaizen conversion, if an organization/business wants to plan and synchronously implement the digital transformation process, and simultaneously prepare the human resources on its ground, it is crucial to make sure each employee understands the value and is ready for business digital transformation.

According to Mr. Hoang Viet Anh, Vice General Director of FPT, digital transformation is a combination of three inseparable elements being the transformation of business models, of technology in businesses and of people

“Businesses need to help employees gain knowledge and understanding about the foundations, values, goals and implications of digital transformation. At the same time analyze and communicate with employees about the positive or negative effects of the process. From there, a suitable process will be made to help each individual in the business/organization to directly participate and benefit from the results of the transformation.”, as further stated by Mr. Viet Anh.

Along with preparing human resources for digital transformation, business leaders also need to show determination to change. According to John Chambers, former President of Cisco Systems, at least 40% of businesses in the world will cease to exist in the next 10 years if their leaders fail to adapt to digital technologies.

Mr. Viet Anh shared the same opinion: “If in an organization/business, the leader is neither knowledgeable nor determined enough to implement digital transformation, the process of collapse and failure is only a matter of time. They must always be at the forefront”.

In his words, leaders need to learn, hone, and research more about the aspects of digital transformation relevant to business models. With the ever-changing state of technologies and human resource readiness, leaders have to constantly expand their scope of knowledge to find the best solution for their business.
