FPT Television upgrades international channels from SD to HD for free

Hanoi, April 13, 2018, FPT Television officially upgraded a series of international channels from SD to HD (Basic package), including regularly watched channels such as Fox Movies, HBO Max by HBO, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, AXN, Fox Life, Channel V, Fashion TV, Fox Sports, Fox Sports 2, NHK World - Japan, DW, National Geographic and Discovery.

The list of regularly watched television channels are offered in each TV package of FPT Television in order to meet the diversified need of customers. Now these channels are upgraded to HD in order to bring customers a better service experience.

Replacing SD TV channels with HD is a trend followed in most of developed countries. HD TVs deliver much sharper images and better sound than SD TVs. Especially, as the system is automatically converted from SD to HD on April 13, the customers of FPT Television who are using Basic package nationwide will not have to spend any extra money or work on this upgrade.

Customers of FPT Television can watch Hollywood blockbusters and sports programs on HD TV channels.

A representative of FPT Television said, "Besides the investment in the rights to broadcast international channels or popular sports tournaments, special arts & cultural programs, this upgrade is part of the different and diversified content development strategy of FPT Television. Audiences can enjoy Hollywood blockbusters on Fox Movies, HBO and Max by HBO; TV shows on AXN, FOX Life and Channel V; sports programs on Fox Sports and Fox Sports 2 or kids can watch Cartoon Network and Disney Channel, besides many exciting others on NHK World, DW, National Geographic, Discovery etc.

After the upgrade, the Basic package by FPT Television will consist of 170 TV channels, 50 HD channels of which are the most popular, and interactive programs and apps such as "Open a safe", forum theatre, sitcom 'Nobody, but God!' etc. In addition 15 HD channels included in the Basic package, customers who are using the Special package will enjoy Premier League for free and 21 additional channels such as Fox HD, Fox Sports 3, CNN, CNBC, BBC, Cinema World etc.
