FPT’s CEO: “FPT’s vital key in pandemic is adapting promptly and vastly.”

Internal digital transformation is one of the crucial points helping FPT to be active and flexible in coping with the unexpected and intense situation of COVID-19. 

Sharing with the Saigon Times, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - FPT’s CEO claimed that, in the last two years, FPT had shifted to the speeding up phase of investment in digital transformation project on every aspects of a business - from human resources, finance, sales, etc to automation, digitalization the workflow and process as well as customer interaction. This was one of the crucial points helping FPT to be active and flexible in coping with the unexpected and intense situation of COVID-19.

As proved in the first six months of 2021, FPT’s total revenue and PBT still sped up in two digits, respectively 19.2% and 20.9% compared to the same period last year. The IT Service sector achieved an out-standing record of growth: a rise of 40.7% and 245% in total revenue and PBT. FPT revenue in digital transformation reached 2.216 billion VND - 19.3% higher than the same period last year. 

Among the internal digital transformation, Mr. Khoa emphasized on the “Data Lake” project. This project was expected to boost the speed of FPT’s digital transformation, aiming at the near real-time driven business operation model. “Data Lake allows managers to have every needed and updated information possible, then to make an efficient and timely decision. Nowadays, waking up every morning, I can see the big picture of the finance, business and overall human forces of FPT Corporation from the database of Data Lake. This enables us to know right away which field is doing good, or which field has concerns that need to be solved.”

Meanwhile, even though there are over 36.000 employees at 27 countries around the world, the BOD are still in total control of the force in near real-time thanks to Data Lake. This allows FPT’s leaders to supervise the fluctuation of quantity, then follow up with the quality of human resources, ultimately coordinating in the situation of pandemic and social distancing. 

Mr Khoa also stated, relying on the technology and management experiences, FPT was ready to accompany organizations and businesses to quickly deploy digital solutions & platforms in sales, operation, production as well as preventing COVID-19, remaining socially safe and continuous business.
