The technology competition for high school students organized by FPT University and FPT Corporation demonstrates its strong appeal to young talents passionate about AI and Robotics across the country.

After more than three weeks of launch, the FPTU AI & Robotics Challenge 2025 (FARC 2025) has officially closed its registration phase with a total of 800 registered teams, of which 636 teams met the organizers’ requirements and are eligible to compete.

These 636 teams come from 59 provinces and cities nationwide. The localities with the highest number of participating teams include Hanoi (97 teams), Ho Chi Minh City (71 teams), and Dong Nai (31 teams), reflecting the widespread reach and equal access to technology opportunities across different regions.

These figures not only highlight the strong attraction of a technology playground for high school students but also affirm the creativity and growing interest of Vietnamese youth in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hung Quan – Director of Admissions at FPT University, FPT Corporation, and Head of the Organizing Committee – the number of registered teams has exceeded the initial expectation. He shared: “These numbers reflect the strong interest of students and high schools in artificial intelligence and robotics. The FPTU AI & Robotics Challenge is not merely a technology competition but also part of FPT University’s long-term goal to promote STEAM learning spirit within the general education sector.”

In addition to attracting a large number of contestants, FARC 2025 also welcomes the participation of many “veteran” teams who have competed and achieved outstanding results in national and international technology competitions. Among them, the Rise and Shine team from Hai Ba Trung High School – Thach That (Hanoi) was the champion of the Vietnam Robotics Challenge 2023, winner of the “Most Popular Robot” and “Best Design” awards at the Vietnam STEM Robotics Championship 2023. Notably, Rise and Shine won the 1st Place Inspire Award at the FIRST Tech Challenge Vietnam and will represent Vietnam at the FIRST Championship 2025 in the United States from April 15–19, 2025.

The M2F Team from Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted (Vinh Long) also achieved Third Prize at the Vietnam Open Robotics Challenge 2023 and the “Best Connection” Award at the Vietnam Open Robotics Challenge 2024.

The participation of such experienced teams not only enhances the professional quality of the competition but also creates a unique attraction for FARC 2025, promising intense intellectual battles, breakthrough ideas, and an inspiring competitive spirit among young talents nationwide.

Contestant Nguyen Tan Phuc (M2F Team, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted) shared: “Through this competition, my teammates and I can challenge ourselves and learn from other teams nationwide. Moreover, I want to improve my teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills. Being part of a major competition like FARC 2025 is a great motivation for our team to delve deeper into our favorite technology field.”

From May 5–14 and June 3–7, the teams will enter the intensive online training phase on AI and Robotics to prepare foundational knowledge before competing. The program includes one session introducing the competition rules, format, and scoring methods; three AI sessions to help teams understand the basics of artificial intelligence, how to use PartyRock – the main tool for the competition – and practice developing AI applications; and five Robotics sessions to provide fundamental knowledge about robotics, its real-life applications, detailed explanations of the challenge topics, practical exercises, and insights on building Robotics clubs at high schools.

FARC 2025 will feature three main rounds: the AI Programming Round (May 31–June 1), Regional Robotics Competitions (June 16–July 10), and the National Finals (August 2–3). The judging criteria are designed to comprehensively assess the teams’ abilities, ensuring fairness and accurately reflecting their proficiency in AI application as well as robot design, programming, and control.

The FARC 2025 challenge theme is “Sustainable Agriculture.” Teams are required to design robots capable of collaborating with farmers, contributing to the development of an advanced agriculture model that applies modern technology while preserving Vietnam’s cultural identity. Through this challenge, the organizers aim to discover talented inventors and innovators in agriculture and robotics, paving the way for groundbreaking solutions in the future.

The competition offers numerous valuable prizes and scholarships for participants in the AI Programming Round and the National Finals, with a total value of up to VND 13 billion.

FARC 2025 is not only a competition but also a vibrant practical environment where students can develop technological thinking, teamwork, and exposure to modern scientific trends. It is also an opportunity for the education community and parents to recognize the outstanding potential of the young generation in their journey to conquer the future through technology.
