The education quality assessment of FPT University to be completed

In collaboration with the Saigon Center for Educational Quality Accreditation (SG CEA), the external assessment team recently conducted surveys at FPT University branches to facilitate the external assessment of this educational institution. Building upon previous endeavors, they have now officially concluded the education quality assessment of FPT University.
The official assessment was conducted from March 25 to March 31, including on-site visits to FPT University campuses in Hanoi and Can Tho, as well as online engagements with branches in Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Quy Nhon.
Prof. Dr. Banh Tien Long, Former Permanent Deputy Minister of Education and Training and Head of the delegation, delivered the opening speech at the commencement of the official assessment.
The Saigon Center for Educational Quality Accreditation (SG CEA) is the organization responsible for conducting the education quality assessment of FPT University. The members of the external assessment team comprise: Prof. Dr. Banh Tien Long, Former Permanent Deputy Minister of Education and Training and Head; Dr. Le Hoang Vu, Deputy Director of SG CEA, Secretary; Associate Prof., PhD. Do Hanh Nga, Deputy Director of SG CEA, Permanent Member; Associate Prof., PhD. Vu Duc Lung, Chairman of the University Council of The University of Information Technology (VNU-HCM), Member; and Dr. Tran Cong Nghiep, Inspector of SG CEA, Member. On behalf of the SG CEA, present were Dr. Nguyen Kim Dung (Director, Supervisor) and MSc. Nguyen Thi Le Hang (Officer).
Present from FPT University were Dr. Le Truong Tung (Chairman of the University Council of FPT University), Dr. Nguyen Khac Thanh (Principal of FPT University), Dr. Nguyen Kim Anh (Vice Principal of FPT University), as well as representatives from unions, managers, staff, lecturers across departments and divisions, and students of the University. Following the ongoing collaboration with FPT University, from April 1 to April 4, the external assessment team and the SG CEA conducted visits to FPT University branches located in Can Tho, Da Nang, HCMC, and Quy Nhon.

The external assessment, aimed at evaluating the education quality of FPT University, concluded in accordance with the educational quality accreditation standards outlined in Circular 12/2017/TT-BGDDT, issued on May 19, 2017, by the Ministry of Education and Training. This assessment encompasses 25 standards and 111 criteria. FPT University received high praise from the experts for its performance across various activities.

Standard 17 - "Student service and support activities" - garnered the most favorable feedback. Experts lauded FPT University for its well-structured system of functional departments offering a diverse range of services to support and oversee students from enrollment to graduation. Additionally, the adept utilization of IT systems for student supervision, enabling prompt assistance, stood out as a commendable aspect highly regarded by experts.

Standard 16 - "Student assessment" - also received high acclaim in the official assessment conducted at FPT University. The institution has implemented independent examination processes separate from teaching activities, ensuring objectivity and fairness in evaluating students. Furthermore, the university continuously enhances testing and evaluation activities and methodologies based on research data and analysis of examination results.
The delegation conducted a survey of a Digital Art Design class at FPT University.
Furthermore, standards 21 - "Connecting and serving the community" - and 24 - "Community service results" - were bolstered by evidence showcasing the preservation and promotion of traditional values through experiential activities for learners, such as "Bringing traditional musical instruments to high schools" and "Introducing Vovinam - Vietnamese martial arts to high schools". Those initiatives have garnered significant attention and participation from the staff, students, and the broader community. These exemplary outcomes have been recognized by the external assessment exam team.
The delegation engaged in discussions with teachers and students of the University regarding their involvement in community projects aimed at disseminating traditional culture.
Concluding the education quality assessment of FPT University, Dr. Nguyen Kim Dung (Director of SG CEA, Supervisor) expressed the delegation's high appreciation for several activities that vividly exemplified the University's ethos of "Doing different to do well." FPT University is recognized for its distinctive vision, mission, core values, and educational philosophy, significantly enhancing the quality of higher education in Vietnam.
Dr. Nguyen Kim Dung also provided several recommendations for enhancing the quality of operations at FPT University in the future, focusing on benchmarking and continuous, effective improvement. Consequently, the official education quality assessment of FPT University has been formally concluded.
