Honoring and awarding ceremony of the Violympic 2017 - 2018: 10 years of passion

Honoring and awarding ceremony of the Mathematics and Physics Competition via Internet - Violympic in 2017 - 2018 in the North of Vietnam will take place in Hanoi. This year, Violympic is also marked as the 10th year of brilliant success with many memorable milestones.

Attending the ceremony were representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, representatives from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Education, the advisory board, representatives of FPT Corporation, FPT University, sponsor units and partners, with excellent teachers and students of provinces and cities across the country.

In the school year of 2017-2018, there were more than 10,000 students from 49 provinces and cities nationwide participating in the Violympic Competition. In which, there were 2,151 students winning prizes in all three subjects: Mathematics in English, Mathematics in Vietnamese and Physics.

Hanoi is the city with the highest achievement this year, followed by Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc and Nam Dinh. Especially, after a long time returning to the competition, Nam Dinh was excellently standing in the Top 4 of the most awarded provinces.

Following the event in Hanoi, the awarding ceremony in the Southern and Central region is scheduled to take place on May 23 in Vung Tau and on 26/5 in Quang Binh.

In addition, 2018 marks the 10th anniversary of Violympic. In 2008, for the first time, Vietnam had a math contest on the Internet for free for the community. Violympic has a mission to develop math and technology passion for Vietnamese youth.

One year after its establishment, Violympic received the Vietnam Information and Communication Technology Award in 2009 and, for the first time, Sao Khue Award for its product and educational service.

With the coverage throughout the country, Violympic continuously affirmed the leading position in the popularization and development of mathematics nationwide. Over the past 10 years, Violympic has had nearly 50 million students participating, spreading to 63 provinces, officially became the most trusted brand of math on the Internet.

Mr. Nguyen Anh, Content Advisor of the Violympic Contest from the very first days, shared: "Violympic was born in the context of the reform of education has just been implemented about 5 years, to meet the needs of students and parents about a healthy mathematical playground. In the first years, it had just nearly 700,000 students who registered to the contest, up to now, the school year of 2015 - 2016, this number has increased 100 times, reaching 7 - 8 million students. This shows that the contest has added more passion of mathematics for many generations of Vietnamese students. "

In order to foster a generation of global citizens, in 2013, the Violympic launched the Math in English Competition. In the school year of 2016 - 2017, Violympic also added the subject of physics, satisfying the love of this subject for many students across the country.

Former Vice Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Nguyen Vinh Hien expressed: "Violympic not only encourages students' mathematical passion, contributing to improve the quality of education and training, but also applying ICT which helps to ensure equal educational opportunities for students in all parts of the country. "

Moreover, the organizer continues to add more 4.0 technology applications in the coming time such as chatbot - robot answering questions frequently asked, virtual reality technology or real interaction. It creates a lively, interesting contest form that streamlined more interactive and modern content for students.

Violympic is a national competition in mathematics and physics on the Internet organized by FPT Corporation. The competition is for students in grades 1 through 12 of the country. To participate in the National Round, all contestants must pass the free competition rounds. Excellent candidates will be eligible to take the exam in National level.
