iBus to compete in the finale of ASEAN ICT Awards

iBus - the Information, Management and Operation of Public Transport by Bus System will compete with other international products in the finale of ASEAN ICT Awards (AICTA).

The ASEAN ICT Awards (AICTA) is a project approved by the ASEAN Telecommunication Ministers at the 11th ASEAN Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministers Meeting (TELMIN) in December 2011. It has become the most prestigious IT awards in the ASEAN region as well as in Asia – Pacific.

The awards includes six categories, namely the public sector, private sector, digital content, start-up company, research, and development. Each of the ASEAN member nations can nominate three products for each category. Each organisation or business can nominate many products for different categories.

iBus by FPT IS FTS is one of Vietnam’s ICT products to compete in the final round scheduled to take place in Cambodia in November. iBus has been developed since 2014 and was officially put into operation in HCMC the third quarter of 2015.

The solution includes four software systems: Information management software for bus stops, waiting houses and yards; Information management and optimization software for bus operations; Software for managing and administrating bus operations online and Online portals software for passengers.

With iBus, all operations are performed in a system. Infrastructure management, operation plans, online supervision and management, online portals and apps are computerized. So the State agencies and transport enterprises can manage all activities of public buses.

The solution has been selected and deployed at the Department of Transport in HCMC, managing the operation with the scale of 3,000 buses and nearly 17,000 trips per day. Hanoi and Da Nang are evaluating and considering the application of this solution.

FPT Information System's two products – FPT.eHospital and FPT.eGov – were awarded with silver and gold prizes respectively in 2012.
