Investors impressed with FPT's digital transformation strategy

On August 6, 2019, FPT organized Analyst Meeting 6H2019 via video conferencing in Hanoi and HCMC. At the event, FPT's Board of Management showed the investors business results in the first 6 months and the orientation in the coming time, especially digital transformation.

Speaking at the meeting, FPT CEO Nguyen Van Khoa emphasized that in the next 10 years, FPT aims at Top 50 Digital Transformation Consulting Companies and digital transformation will contribute greatly to FPT's business results. At the same time, he informed them about digital transformation methodology, OKR management method and discipline enhancement in FPT.

According to FPT Deputy General Director Nguyen The Phuong, in 6M2019, FPT's revenue and profit gained positive growths. Revenue reached VND 12,492 billion, an increase of 22.2% yoy. Profit before tax (PBT) reached VND 2,139 billion, an increase of 26.8% yoy and equal to 111.2% of the year to date target. FPT's profit growth mainly came from two core sectors, namely Technology and Telecommunications, accounting for 78% of the total profit of the corporation. Specifically, PBT of Technology and Telecommunications sectors increased by 44% and 13% respectively yoy.

In addition to being informed about the business activities, the investors experienced some outstanding technologies of FPT such as self-driving car technology; Utop – point redemption application on Akachain – FPT’s Blockchain platform; akaDoc - akaDoc - the leading OCR solution for document digitization, akaBot - a comprehensive RPA Solution.

The investors were very impressed with FPT's digital transformation strategy and some new technologies that FPT are developing.

“FPT's focus on software, telecommunications, digital transformation... that made business results'brighter' met the investors' expectations. Although I do not understand deeply about digital conversion, I think this is an important orientation of the future,” said Tran Dang Long - BIDV Securities Company.
