Many development opportunities for FPT in Mie Prefecture, Japan
Human resources shortages and policies calling for investment will offer FPT a good opportunity to expand their own brand in Mie Prefecture, Japan. This was discussed at the meeting between FPT CEO Bui Quang Ngoc and Governor of Mie Prefecture Eikei Suzuki held on the morning of November 16 at the headquarters of FPT.

At the meeting, Mr. Eikei Suzuki proposed FPT cooperating in the fields of human resource training and supply as well as expanding its activities in Japan with a new office in Mie Prefecture and more cooperation with the enterprises here. According to Mr. Eikei Suzuki, they just carried out a survey on which country local enterprises wanted to attract investment from, Vietnam was the top choice. Therefore, he expected that this meeting would get attention from FPT in order that the company would play a role as the bridge between more Vietnamese businesses and local ones.
Mr. Eikei Suzuki proposed FPT cooperating in the fields of IT human resource training and supply.
According to FPT CEO Bui Quang Ngoc, FPT was making a large investment in the Japanese market. It was expected that FPT would soon take a trip to Mie Prefecture in order to understand and meet with local enterprises.
As FPT Japan had more than 350 major customers in Japan, it was not too hard to spread its brand in Mie Prefecture. Mr. Ngoc hoped that FPT would receive strong support from the local side.
FPT Corporation has always considered Japan as its most important market. With 760 employees in Japan and support resources including 4,500 IT engineers in the country, the company has set a target of being among the top 50 IT companies in Japan in 2017. Further, FPT Japan is expected to contribute 50% of its total revenue target of USD 1 billion from the overseas markets in 2020.
Sales of FPT Japan always grew at 32% per year over the past 10 years. This revenue growth rate of FPT Japan was 2.5 times higher than the average growth rate of export turnovers between Vietnam and Japan (at 13.9% per year) from 2006 to 2015. Besides, according to the General Administration of Customs, 24 out of 80 export markets of Vietnam had export turnover of less than USD 100 million by the end of September 2016.
FPT CEO Bui Quang Ngoc gave the gift to Governor Mie Prefecture Eikei Suzuki.
"Vietnamese feel closer to Japan in terms of culture, food and tourism. After this meeting, the businesses in Mie Prefecture can help pave the way for FPT here,” stated Mr.Ngoc.
