Profit before tax reached vnd 2,340 billion, maintain a high growth of 32%

In 8M2018, revenue and PBT were VND 14,061 billion and VND 2,340 billion and achieved strong growth of 19% and 32% year on year (YoY), respectively, in like for like comparison (FPT Retail and Synnex FPT were regarded as associates for 8M2017). Compared to the actual number (no adjustment) of 8M2017, revenue is down 49%, equal to 105% of the YTD target, and PBT is up 17% YoY, equal to 113% of the YTD target.
Profit after tax (PAT) was VND 1,964 billion, up 16% YoY. PAT attributable to parent company’s shareholders was up 19% to VND 1,547 billion, and EPS was VND 2,526 up 18% YoY. Moreover, PBT margin achieved 16.6%, equal to 2.3 times that of 8M2017.
Performance of business sectors
Revenue from technology and telecom sectors contributed 94% to the Corporation’s total revenue.
Technology sector recorded revenue and PBT of VND 7,570 billion and VND 863 billion, up 21% and 31% YoY, respectively. In which, the software outsourcing segment recorded revenue of VND 5,044 billion, up 33% YoY. PBT for the reported period was VND 773 billion, up 30% YoY. Outsourcing revenue by markets achieved a good growth of over 23% YoY.
Telecom sector had its revenue up 16%, to VND 5,691 billion, PBT was VND 994 billion, up 19% YoY.
Overseas markets' profit up 36% YoY
The overseas markets continued to be a key growth driver for FPT. In 8M2018, FPT’s overseas markets recorded a healthy growth with revenue increased by 30% to VND 5,482 billion, and PBT up 36% YoY to VND 860 billion. The overseas revenue contributed 39% to the Corporation’s total revenue, from 15% in 8M2017.
In August 2018, FPT and Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics (SPPAL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote collaboration and market expansion in the digital transformation of the logistics industry. According to the agreement, FPT will cooperate with SPPAL in the areas including innovative software technology and consulting.
