SK Holdings wants to work with FPT in smart factory solutions in Vietnam

The meeting, which is within the ministerial visit to South Korea for e-Government Survey System, was hosted by FPT Japan with the participation of senior leaders from 12 Korean leading corporations including LG, Samsung, Hanwha, Lotte, SK Holdings, etc.

The meeting, which is within the ministerial visit to South Korea for e-Government Survey System, was hosted by FPT Japan with the participation of senior leaders from 12 Korean leading corporations including LG, Samsung, Hanwha, Lotte, SK Holdings, etc.

FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh joined the meeting between Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung and leading South Korean firms.

At the meeting, the leading South Korean firms showed interest in partnering with Vietnamese firms to develop e-government, smart city and smart factory solutions.

South Korean firm SK Holdings has suggested joining forces with FPT Corporation to develop solutions for smart factory development in Southeast Asia and in Vietnam now.

Samsung SD intended to join hands with Vietnamese enterprises to develop solutions for e-government, smart city and the latest technology applications such as industrial Internet of things (IoT), Blockchain and Big Data in Vietnam.

LG Electronics, was interested in providing IT training in Vietnam, while Lotte and CJ paid attention to investment in smart city projects in Vietnam.

Hanwha wanted to partner with Vietnamese firms which were concerned about digital transformation. The company also looked forward to collaborating with FPT to develop Multi Robot Data Acquisition and Monitoring System.

FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh at the meeting appreciated the factory model by SK Holdings. “Vietnam is a manufacturing center with a lot of assembly, component producing, garment, footwear factories. It is essential that high technologies should be applied in order to optimize manufacturing operation, cut down cost and shorten production time. Hence, FPT is focusing on smart factory development as one of steps towards Industry 4.0”, said Mr. Binh.

In 2016, FPT established an office in South Korea to expand its operation and search for Korean partners in strategic technology segments like smart factory, auto technology and consumer electronics. FPT has seen its South Korea business growing by 300% a year, making the country the fastest-growing market for FPT, which is also doing business 33 other countries and territories worldwide.
