To Minh had just pulled off a major organizational improvement during the current pandemic, by utilizing FPT Software’s RetailPlatform platform and its integrated cloud computing-based automation of all transactional and database management, ensuring a completely real-time progress report.
Faced with the mounting threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, To Minh – a restaurant chain with four separate branches that cater to the supply of food, confectionery, and beverages, began evaluating its marketing strategies and developing new administrational subsystems to facilitate long-term growth.
According to Mr. To Minh Quoc, CEO, “When we first reopened during April of 2020 after the first wave of the pandemic, the stimulation of the customer’s demands and cost optimization were the first concerns on my mind. But the standard business approaches aren’t going to work efficiently, therefore an industrial-grade support infrastructure is needed”.
Upon learning of FPT Software’s (a subsidiary of the FPT Corporation) solution packages for SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises), To Minh was introduced to RetailPlatform, which they had implemented across four of their branch stores. RetailPlatform optimizes every operational function on one single platform, creating an automated chain of tasks, therefore increasing a store’s work efficiency while reducing the time needed for each step.
This new omni-channel platform will greatly help manage all of the store’s work tasks. From taking order to finalizing transactions, everything will be incorporated into a single infrastructure. Every single operation of the store’s many departments will be collated onto one cloud computing-powered system, and resolved in real-time. For example, when the customer browses the menu via a tablet device, the staff member taking that order will input the details onto their application, which will simultaneously update the screens at the kitchen or bar with that exact order at the same time. As a result, the ordered dish or drink will be prepared immediately without the staff having to move around, thus saving much of the valuable time.

Upon first rolling out RetailPlatform, To Minh tasked FPT Software with focusing specifically on preferred customer treatments. Apart from the ability to accumulate bonus points in order to gain special benefits on their next orders, RetailPlatform also provides the client with even more manners of support, such as locating the nearest restaurant, finding directions, looking up their transaction history, and above all else, logging their personal feedback on the quality of service. “Our Hong Kong food establishment saw incredible changes, welcoming more than 1.200 clients per day ever since we changed our customer service approach”, said Mr. Quoc.
In the near future, To Minh sincerely hopes that FPT Software will push for a greater integration of AI, in order to predict the promotional campaigns of each store in the chain, so as to properly attend to the needs of the customer, or providing reminders for employees to report on and restock specific types of food based on the consumption data of the last 30 days. When produce is purchased by the chain manager, the system will notify every store and actively schedules delivery dates.
