Hanoi, June 18, 2025 – FPT University (FPTU) has officially been ranked 80th globally for SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025.
In addition to SDG 8, FPTU also advanced to the Top 301–400 universities globally for overall sustainable development impact and maintained its position in the Top 101–200 for Quality Education (SDG 4) among more than 2,500 institutions from hundreds of countries and territories. This marks the third consecutive year of improvement since FPTU first joined the rankings four years ago.

Representative of the THE Impact Rankings organization presents the certificate recognizing FPT University’s placement in the 301–400 group among over 2,500 universities worldwide in 2025 to Dr. Le Truong Tung – Chairman of FPT University Council, FPT Corporation.
The THE Impact Rankings assess universities’ performance in achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) measures how effectively universities prepare students for the labor market not only through academic qualifications but through adaptability, real-world readiness, and the skills essential for sustainable global growth. SDG 4 (Quality Education) evaluates universities’ contributions to inclusive, equitable, and quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
With its 80th global ranking in SDG 8, FPTU has been recognized internationally as one of the world’s leading universities in practice-oriented education creating real jobs and real quality outcomes for students in the age of globalization and digital transformation.
Dr. Le Truong Tung – Chairman of FPT University Council, FPT Corporation – emphasized: “AI and digital technologies are reshaping the way people learn, work, and create value. In this context, universities cannot simply teach knowledge they must equip students with the ability to adapt, to learn for life, and to lead the future. Higher education today bears the responsibility of tomorrow. Sustainable Development Goals from employment and economic growth to quality education are no longer distant ideals but immediate missions. At FPTU, we pursue a model of education closely aligned with real-world practice, business, and the rhythm of society. Being ranked in the global Top 80 for SDG 8 is a milestone but more importantly, it affirms that a Vietnamese university can generate tangible, positive impact on the labor market and sustainable global development.”

Dr. Le Truong Tung – Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Nguyen Khac Thanh – President, and representatives of FPT University receive the new THE Impact Rankings results in Turkey.
A Training Model Aligned with Market, Technology, and Entrepreneurship
To achieve its Top 80 global ranking for SDG 8, FPTU places students at the center of its educational strategy. The university continuously innovates its curricula to reflect real-world needs and social development trends, while providing opportunities for students to work, create, and develop irreplaceable value.
FPTU students learn in an environment deeply connected to businesses, professional practice, and entrepreneurship. From the third year, 100% of students participate in an On-the-Job Training (OJT) program guided by industry mentors. In addition, the Personal Development Program (PDP) and community projects such as supporting local digital transformation enable students to gain practical understanding of socio-economic operations.
Students also undertake short-term overseas study programs (3–6 months) to experience international environments and develop skills for global readiness.
With a strong focus on self-employability, entrepreneurship is a formal academic track at FPTU, not merely an extracurricular activity. Since 2023, two mandatory courses “Startup Experience 1 and 2” have been integrated into the final three semesters. Outstanding projects can replace the graduation thesis and receive financial support of up to VND 50 million per project. Programs such as F-Shark, Student Showcase, and FPT Edu Biz Talent allow students to pitch ideas, seek funding, and bring their concepts to life with the support of faculty, entrepreneurs, and investors.
Particularly in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is rapidly transforming how humans learn, work, and create value, FPTU has proactively integrated AI, data, and digital transformation content across all disciplines from Information Technology and Business Administration to Media Technology, Law, and Languages. Students not only learn to use AI as a tool but also cultivate critical thinking, adaptability, and creativity qualities that cannot be replaced by machines.
This practical training model from internships and community projects to entrepreneurship has contributed to FPTU’s impressive 98% graduate employment rate, with 19% of alumni working in developed countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and Canada.

FPT University’s consistent rise in the prestigious THE Impact Rankings reflects its dedication to providing an innovative and dynamic educational environment.
