The agreement between UNICEF and FPT focuses on assessing greenhouse gas emissions in child-related environments, developing an AI-based early warning system for natural disasters, and promoting digital skills education and online child protection.
UNICEF brings international expertise and experience in child rights, along with policy advocacy and resource mobilization, ensuring that technological solutions are closely aligned with real-world needs. FPT contributes its technological capabilities and teams of experts proficient in AI, big data, and modern digital infrastructure.
In the environmental field, the two sides plan to pilot the VertZéro greenhouse gas inventory solution developed by FPT to measure emissions at selected schools, hospitals, or community centers for children. The collected data will help identify pollution sources and assess their impact on children, leading to improvement recommendations such as installing solar energy systems, enhancing insulation, or using energy-efficient lighting. UNICEF will use this data to develop a child-focused environmental impact report and advocate for emission reduction policies.
In disaster prevention, FPT is researching and integrating AI into forest, land, and water resource monitoring systems to provide early warnings on floods, landslides, droughts, or seasonal water scarcity. UNICEF will collaborate with relevant authorities to utilize national datasets and apply analytical results to policy formulation for disaster response, thereby protecting millions of children and families living in disaster-prone areas.
UNICEF and FPT will jointly research and implement programs enabling children and young people to access technology safely, learn digital and AI skills, and support parents in accompanying their children.
Among FPT’s digital education platforms, several will play a central role: Khaothi.Online – a digital testing system that supports capacity assessment and enhances the quality of examinations and learning; Meduverse – a learning ecosystem applying AI, VR/AR, big data, and gamification for children aged 4–15; and CodeLearn – a platform for teaching programming and digital skills to students.
The solutions are tailored to fit Viet Nam’s general and preschool curricula, integrating adaptive learning features to support students in developing personalized learning pathways. Additionally, the two parties will coordinate teacher training programs and community initiatives, contributing to the creation of a safe, inclusive, and equitable digital learning environment for all children.

Ms. Silvia Danailov, Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), shared: “To protect children’s rights and promote sustainable development in Viet Nam, we need the collective efforts of many partners — with technology enterprises playing a crucial role. Through this cooperation, UNICEF and FPT are committed to leveraging the power of technology to improve the well-being of Vietnamese children. We will drive innovative solutions to protect vulnerable children, strengthen data-driven policymaking, and build resilient systems that adapt to climate change — always keeping Vietnamese children at the heart of all our efforts.”

Mr. Than Minh Ngoc, Chief Operating Officer of FPT IS, FPT Corporation, shared: “The partnership between UNICEF and FPT marks a new collaboration model where international organizations and technology enterprises join hands to address global challenges deeply connected to local realities. FPT is committed to harnessing the power of technology together with UNICEF — not only to tackle today’s urgent challenges but also to lay the foundation for long-term change, contributing to building a safer, more inclusive, and equitable environment for all Vietnamese children.”
According to UNICEF, children are among the most vulnerable groups facing global challenges such as climate change, natural disasters, and inequality in technology access, due to their dependence, limited coping capacity, and the long-term effects these issues have on their physical and mental development. The partnership between UNICEF and FPT is not only about digital transformation but also a testament that technology can be a powerful tool to create a safe, healthy, and equitable environment where every child can thrive.
