FPT Software Attends the Global Artificial Intelligence Roundtable

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phong - Director of Artificial Intelligence at FPT Software - will join the Worldwide AI Webinar 2022

It is expected that Mr. Phong will bring the latest sharing on applying data-centricity to AI to solve practical problems, along with practical examples for researchers and businesses. 

The data-centric AI approach is driven and delivered by Dr. Andrew Ng - who is dubbed the world's AI genius, co-founder of Coursera, Google Brain Founding Team Leader, and former Baidu Chief Scientist. The data-centric approach can shorten the time to build AI, enhance user-friendliness, and dynamically transform according to the characteristics of different needs.

It is also the technology area FPT Software has focused on in recent years. One of the highlights is the strategic partnership agreement with Landing AI to distribute the flagship product LandingLens™ - using AI to visually test product quality, focusing on industrial production and machine detailing in markets such as Vietnam, Asia-Pacific, and the US.

The LandingLens™ MLOps™ Machine Learning Model Management platform recognizes 360-degree images for real-time inspection and evaluation of product conditions, making it easy for factories to improve operational productivity, simplify processes, and optimize costs. By including LandingLens™ in solving practical problems, FPT Software and Landing AI are able to optimize the data source that is important for both parties to continue to research, train AI, and improve the technology of the future.

In a recent talk between FPT Software, Landing AI, and factory partners, guests expressed their excitement about AI's potential for visual, acoustic, electromagnetic, and spectral testing. Moreover, they all agreed that AI would create competitive strengths in the new era. Still, the common challenge was integrating new technology into existing lines and processes that need additional individual solutions and highly specialized personnel to operate.

According to FPT Software's representative, one of the solutions was piloting at a small scale before deploying enterprise-wide expansion. Other challenges included transforming and redesigning operating and business models to accompany digital transformation, as well as promoting human resource training and development. "The key line is managing transformation and the people," the representative stressed.

Expanding the AI platform to get more accessible is Dr. Andrew Ng's goal through building data-centric AI. With his educational experience, he agreed with the view that more attention should be paid to training new skills for the team. “We need to ensure that people in need are enabled to learn the adequate skillsets to use AI,” he stressed.

In partnership with Landing AI, FPT Software places particular emphasis on training resources and sharing knowledge about artificial intelligence. In 2021, the business provided 19,000 Udemy accounts for its personnel, sponsoring 2,300 Nano Course courses on Udacity for technologists to deepen their knowledge of data, machine learning, and AI. 

In 2021, representatives of Landing AI collaborated with FPT Software during the Tech Innovators sharing event. The team of engineers from FPT Software also ranked in the top 3% of the best contestants in the International Data-Centric AI Competition, finishing 17th overall on 500 teams worldwide. In addition, the Company continued to host the 8-week Data-Centric AI Competition in Vietnam, attracting 1,800 participants from 21 countries and territories, awarding a total prize of up to half a billion. 

It has recently reached a significant milestone in AI research and development - the first patent on a U.S.-certified machine learning platform. Besides, AI Residency - a research training program developed by FPT Software in partnership with the world's leading AI Mila Research Institute (Canada) - has continuously published numerous reports and researches accepted into leading seminars.
