According to the life cycle of a simulation project, the handbook named "Japanese for Information Technology in the Software Industry" was compiled by an author team of FPT Software (a subsidiary of FPT Corporation). It brings learners practical lessons, specifically for people working in the technology industry.
The book includes 15 lessons that simulate step-by-step the life cycle of an information technology project implemented in Japan. All lessons provide a rich and comprehensive amount of technical terms and vocabulary with high applicability.
Each lesson consists of two parts: reading comprehension and conversation practice. In particular, the dialogues demonstrate project meetings with the characteristics of Japanese partners. Learners also easily access other learning materials by scanning the QR code that links to the conversation and practice to enrich their IT vocabulary.
Mr. Dang Khai Hoan - Director of FPT Software's FGC - represented the Chief Author of the handbook
Based on FPT Software's valuable experience of implementing thousands of technology projects with Japanese customers over the past 20 years, the book helps learners visualize the overall project process with examples that simulate actual documents, presentation forms, or weekly reports. The practical knowledge allows IT learners to promptly catch up with tasks and clients in a new environment.
The author group includes six translators and interpreters of FPT Software with more than 15 years of experience in the technology and language industries while working with Japan - the Land of the Rising Sun. The authors have compiled the book on Japanese IT in the software industry from practical experience in Japanese training and coaching for technology engineers.
Mr. Dang Khai Hoan - editor-in-chief - said that the authors had focused on writing consecutively for half a year, closely following to avoid duplicate words or situations. It is suitable for students and engineers with N2 level, also the basic level to start their career path in Japan. "The manual will help solve the linguistic problems for those with limited time to study Japanese according to work requirements," added Mr. Hoan.

Professor Kuroda Hideo - Principal of FPT Japanese Language School (Tokyo, Japan) - assessed that, through their daily tasks, the authors had built highly applicable book content. "There have been many books on Japanese for work published, but this one stands out. It covers all the scenarios in a technology project, from the kick-off meeting to the customer satisfaction survey - the final phase in the project life cycle," commented Mr. Kuroda.
The author team plans to make three more books on Japanese email writing practice, presentation, and project meetings. The book is currently in limited circulation internally and will be public shortly.
Before, FPT Software's team of translators and interpreters had built a dictionary website called SearchDi, a collection of specialized vocabulary with exercises and valuable references. This website has been shared externally since 2021 to contribute helpful knowledge and materials to Vietnamese technology engineers working with Japanese partners.
