CEO of FPT Committed to Creating a Happy Learning and Working Environment for the People of Binh Dinh

Quy Nhon, May 19, 2023 - FPT Software (a subsidiary of FPT Corporation) held the groundbreaking ceremony for the FPT Software Technology Research, Production, and Expert Training Center in Quy Hoa Valley, Zone 2, Ghenh Rang Ward, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province.

Attending the event were provincial leaders, including Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province; Mr. Le Hoai Nghi, Provincial Party Committee Member, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Binh Dinh Province; Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quy Nhon City, as well as representatives from functional units of the province and training institutions in the province. FPT was represented by Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT; Mr. Tran Dang Hoa, Chairman of FPT IS; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Minh, Director of Human Resources at FPT Software; Mr. Le Hong Linh, Director of FPT Software Central; Ms. Doan Thi My Thuong, Director of FPT Software Da Nang; Mr. Vu Van Dong, Director of FPT Software Binh Dinh; Mr. Nguyen The Quang, Director of FPT Telecom Region, and representatives from various departments and divisions of the company.

At the event, Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province, stated that Binh Dinh was known as a land full of potential and prospects, attracting reputable domestic and international investors. In recent years, the province invested in the Quy Hoa Technology Urban Area's construction and development, the first multifunctional urban area in Vietnam. Today, with the FPT Software Technology Research, Production, and Expert Training Center project and the commitment of FPT's Chairman Truong Gia Binh, Binh Dinh was poised to become the cradle of artificial intelligence, once again demonstrating the initial success of the Quy Hoa Technology Urban Area. It represented a new and creative direction, full of challenges, to establish a sustainable development platform for the future. It also aligned with the province's development orientation in the science, education, and technology sections. This project would also serve as a missing piece to complete and enhance the effectiveness of the Quy Hoa Technology Urban Area, contributing positively to the local socio-economic development.

Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Provincial Party Committee Member, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, made a speech at the event.

On February 5, 2023, FPT Software officially received the Investment Certificate for constructing the Technology Research, Production, and Expert Training Center in Quy Nhon. With a total investment of over 2,000 billion VND, this Technology Complex will serve as a workplace, research and development center, and learning environment for 20,000 technology professionals. In addition, it aims to contribute to the high-quality human resources development for the local area, attract international talent, and make Quy Nhon a hub for artificial intelligence (AI) in the Southeast Asian region.

Additionally, the complex will provide high-tech services based on global trends such as AI, big data, the Internet of Things, automation, and more. This plan will enhance the competitive capacity of Vietnamese technology enterprises and promote the technology sector as a crucial economic industry in Binh Dinh province.

FPT has always nurtured the desire to turn Binh Dinh into the region's leading artificial intelligence (AI) center - the research lab fully capable of experimenting with the world's latest technologies. In 2021, FPT Corporation signed a provincial planning agreement with Binh Dinh for 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050, and also a cooperation agreement to promote digital transformation in 2021-2025. Those were significant milestones in realizing the aspiration.

Previously, FPT had also made a deal with Mila - the world's leading AI Research Institute - within three years (2020-2023). Accordingly, one of the most important goals of this partnership is to develop a global AI Research Center in Quy Nhon based on Mila's advice and experience. The construction project of FPT's AI Center in Quy Nhon has a scale of about 94 hectares with a total investment of more than VND 4,362 billion. The project includes a technology research and development center specializing in AI, software manufacturing facilities, and other ancillary works.
