FPT has recently released a comprehensive environmental policy applicable across the Corporation. This policy outlines a clear roadmap and specific actions aimed at achieving the ambitious long-term objective of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to achieve Net Zero status by 2040.
The policy explicitly outlines FPT's commitment to minimizing environmental impact and attaining its objectives through targeted actions. These include reducing energy consumption, minimizing the use of hazardous chemicals, managing waste and implementing effective waste treatment measures, fostering recycling initiatives, enhancing environmental awareness, advocating for sustainable consumption practices to promote a green environment, and implementing measures to control and reduce GHG emissions.
In addition to the outlined actions, FPT has set forth specific commitments along its environmental roadmap to mitigate its impact. By 2024, the Corporation aims to monitor 100% of its energy usage data and transition all office trash bags to recyclable materials. By 2026, FPT plans to increase the proportion of electricity sourced from renewables to 2.5% and transition to using 100% LED light bulbs. By 2030, it targets a reduction of total GHG emissions by 15.8%. Ultimately, FPT aims to achieve Net Zero GHG emissions by 2040.

According to Mr. Nguyen The Phuong, Executive Vice President of FPT Corporation, "Committed to leading initiatives in Vietnam aimed at mitigating the impact of GHG emissions, FPT aims to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2040. Additionally, it aspires to influence the living, working, and learning environments of over 1 million workers by 2035."
FPT's primary environmental priorities encompass: (1) Adherence to legal regulations; (2) Efficient management of energy consumption, emissions, and waste; and (3) Establishing an eco-friendly working environment.
In 2023, FPT Corporation, along with its member companies, did not register any instances or notifications pertaining to breaches of environmental laws and regulations. This affirmation of compliance is supported by FPT's internal data, which encompasses incoming and outgoing documents stored within the Corporation's information system.
FPT has implemented various measures to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. These include installing solar power systems, leveraging digital technology to facilitate online meetings and minimize the use of stationary supplies, as well as digitizing documents and data. Additionally, the Corporation regularly conducts awareness campaigns and displays posters promoting electricity and water conservation in essential areas.
Measures such as waste classification at source and utilization of recycled resources underscore FPT's dedication to environmental protection and sustainable development. This commitment is a significant stride toward establishing a clean, sustainable, and eco-friendly workplace. In 2023, FPT demonstrated noteworthy achievements, including the classification of all waste as resources and the proper management of 100% of hazardous waste in compliance with regulations. Moreover, the Corporation recycled 17.7 tons of garbage.
Concurrently, the Corporation prioritized the establishment of a green working environment through initiatives such as monitoring and regulating air quality in workplaces, promoting paperless offices, and constructing office buildings integrated with natural surroundings.

In 2023, FPT took proactive steps by conducting an inventory of GHG emissions across the entire corporation, encompassing all buildings and business locations in Vietnam belonging to its 08 member companies. In 2023, FPT's total GHG emissions amounted to 78.128 tons of CO2 equivalent. The two primary sources of these emissions were electricity consumption for lighting, machinery, and equipment operation (Scope 2) and gasoline usage for FPT-owned vehicles.
The issuance of the Environmental Policy underscores FPT's steadfast strategy of intertwining sales and profit growth with sustainable development and social responsibility. Furthermore, this policy is pivotal in cultivating a joyful work environment, fostering optimal conditions for employees to innovate, grow, and showcase their talents.
