Launching BTEC Vietnam

On November 9th, the signing ceremony of MOU on the establishment of BTEC Vietnam – a joint venture between FPT Education and Pearson Education took place.

This will become a community which gathers the students who have already joined BTEC programs as well as the institutions which offer BTEC programs in Vietnam as it represents Pearson Education to develop BTEC programs here.

The ceremony was attended by Vietnam Country Manager at Pearson Edexcel Asia Le Tuan Dung; Vice Rector of FPT University in HCMC Tran Ngoc Tuan; Chief Financial Officer of FPT Education Nguyen Truong Son; Director of the FPT International Training Institute Le Thi Hong Hanh; Dean of Business Administration, University of Greenwich (Vietnam) Tran Minh Phang; Training Director of BTEC FPT and Deputy Manager of Human Resource Development and Recruitment of FPT Telecom Tran Thi Truc Minh.

The signing ceremony was attended by some preventatives from the British Consulate General in HCMC including Mr. Ian Gibbons, Consul General and Director of UK Trade & Investment; Mr. Ed Vaizey – Special Envoy and Ms. Ho Thi Kim Phuong – Senior Trade Officer, Head of the Education Division attended.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Tuan – Vice Rector of FPT University in Ho Chi Minh shared the vision and the reason why FPT Education is expanding its international cooperation, especially with Pearson Education: “Education in Vietnam is also affected by the Industrial Revolution 4.0, integration for development is very welcome. The BTEC programme of Pearson Education (UK) aims to give students the ability to adapt career skills quickly. FPT Education always prides itself on bringing the highest educational values to meet demands for high quality human resources in today's enterprises. BTEC Vietnam will certainly be a place where the BTEC Education and Training community can exchange their views and share learning and teaching methods”.

For almost 17 years in Vietnam, the BTEC program by Pearson Education (UK) has always been highly valued for its quality and benefits for 20,000 people. The program made an contribution to improving the quality of education and globalization of Vietnamese education.

FPT Education is a reliable partner of Pearson Education to build BTEC Vietnam - a common community which brings together all BTEC students, alumni and other training units in Vietnam.

"Today we build this community to offer partners and students exchange opportunities between organizations across the UK as well as universities and colleges in the UK. This will also give BTEC students more opportunities to study and improve themselves in Vietnam and in the UK. We are grateful for the support and dedication of the British governments to the future of Vietnamese education," said Vietnam Country Manager at Pearson Edexcel Asia Le Tuan Dung.

BTEC Vietnam plays the role as an official organ of Pearson Education which helps with information consistency. All individuals/organizations who are official members of BTEC Vietnam or participate in its activities will get direct support from Pearson Education.

With a view to the long-term development of the BTEC program, BTEC Vietnam will be responsible for organizing activities for BTEC students and alumni as well as the universities and colleges offering BTEC programs nationwide.

Mr. Le Tuan Dung becomes Chairman of BTEC Vietnam while Ms. Le Thi Hong Hanh is Managing Director of BTEC Vietnam.

In the long term, BTEC Vietnam wishes to build a solid community, contributing to the development of the Vietnamese education.
