Sultan of Brunei visits FPT UBD Global Centre

On November 10, on the occasion of his trip to Vietnam to attend the APEC 2017, Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah made a visit to FPT UBD Global Centre - an English Center founded under the cooperation between Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) with FPT University. He also expressed his expectation that the center will become a hallmark of cooperation between the two countries.

Ms. Datin Dr Anita BZ Abdul Aziz (Rector of UBD) introduced the facilities and activities of the Center. FPT UBD Global Center is based on the cooperation between UBD and FPT University. FPT University is in charge of infrastructure and enrollment, while UBD is responsible for teachers and training programs. The first teachers arrived here in March and the first English courses were just opened.

The visit also consisted the participation of Huynh Duc Tho, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Huynh Duc Tho, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh and Chairman of FPT University Le Truong Tung and other leaders.

Paying much attention to education and the cooperative relationship between the two countries, Ms. Datin Dr Anita BZ Abdul Aziz shared about the hard but worthy journey of “internationalization” of UBD and FPT University. She expected that the UBD Global Center - a remarkable milestone would help many generations of students become global citizens with well-trained English skills.

The FPT UBD Global Centre has religious significance for the UBD staff serving here as they have an opportunity to immerse myself in the local way of living in the most worth-living city in Vietnam.

"I expect that the center will become a high quality English language training center in Da Nang, Vietnam, contributing to the human resources development," stated Huynh Duc Tho.

On this occasion, Sultan of Brunei also signed on the commemoration of the establishment of FPT UBD Global Centre. This is the first training project of UBD deployed abroad. The presence of the Sultan of Brunei in the event affirmed the importance of international cooperation in education and training between FPT University and UBD, opening up new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

After the trip, Sultan of Brunei will be heading to attend activities of APEC 2017.
