11 startups of VIISA batch 2 are about to graduate

The Investment Day for 11 startups admitted to the second batch of accelerator program by the Vietnam Innovative Startup Accelerator ​ (VIISA) will be held on October 25 in HCMC.

11 chosen startups covered a wide range of fields, including apartment and building management, mobile car sales platform, and on-demand concierge delivery service and pitched in front of investors that included notable firms namely SBI Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, Monk's Hill Ventures, Vina Capital, Vietnam Investment Group, AWS, Microsoft, Mekong Capital, Expara Ventures, Vertex Ventures, Cyber Agent Ventures, 500 startups etc.

VIISA is one of the most prestigious startup programs in Vietnam, working in partnership with major corporations FPT, Dragon Capital and Hanwha Investment (Korea). 3 months after launch (from April to July in 2016), VIISA has attracted 160 start-up ideas in various fields, many of which have already been put into practice. Based on the criteria such as a strong team to execute business ideas; technological ideas applied in practice; scalability and sustainable development in the future, VIISA has selected 12 startups into the 3-month training. VIISA invested USD30,000 (USD15,000 in cash and USD15,000 in kind) into each company while providing technical resources, mentorship and office accommodations. They received access to more than 100 investors all over the world to pursue their dreams. The most promising startup will also receive an additional USD200,000 investment.

7 startups of the second batch of their programme graduated in April. After VIISA Investment Day (Batch 1), Wisepass, subscription-based startup successfully raised USD400,000 in seed funding led by Expara Ventures (Singapore).
