FPT, VNU-UET and UTS cooperate in doctoral training

On October 31, FPT, VNU University of Engineering and Technology (VNU-UET) and University of Technology Sydney (UTS) officially signed a cooperation agreement on training high quality human resources in technology.

On October 31, FPT, VNU University of Engineering and Technology (VNU-UET) and University of Technology Sydney (UTS) officially signed a cooperation agreement on training high quality human resources in technology.

Accordingly, the three sides agreed to organize training programs, exchanges of students/ staff etc. for research, innovation and development purposes. They will focus on post-university training in the field of information technology.

FPT has awarded 3 PhD scholarships, each worth 700 million VND. VNU-UET and UTS are responsible for student selection and training.

In the immediate future, the parties will cooperate with each other in exchange programs, doctoral scholarships in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). FPT will offer 3 doctoral scholarships, each worth VND700 million; VNU-UET and UTS will select students, provide training and issue PhD degree.

 

The representatives of FPT, UTS and UET signed the agreement.

Under the agreement, postgraduates will be working with a team of instructors who are professors and experts from FPT, UTS and UET. Scholarships awardees will receive their salary in three years with VND15 million per month for the first year. Salary of next years will increase as per their work quality. Moreover, they are sponsored expenditure for travelling to international seminars around the world and modern equipment for their research work. Especially, they will have 12 month internship in UTS in Australia.

We expect through cooperation with foreign universities, Vietnam will have leading IT experts especially in the field of AI, IoT for the country’s the fourth industrial revolution," stated FPT CEO Bui Quang Ngoc.

In recent years, FPT has always paid much attention to the development of the technology community. The firm has held many technology contests for students, besides cooperating with universities nationwide in training programs and awarding doctoral scholarships.
